ABSTRACT
The Field Activities Committee (FAC) has released new draft versions of the Volume 1 and Volume 2 Field Sampling and Measurement (FSMO) standards. Volume 1 has been updated to incorporate ISO/IEC 17025:20017 while Volume 2 had been updated to incorporate ISO/IEC 17011:2017. Additional language has also been added to both volumes to provide more value and clarity for FSMOs and their Accrediting Body (AB). For Volume 1, the focus has been on adding requirements specific to the planning aspects and management system processes needed to successfully collect representative samples. The Volume 2 changes focused on consistency across The NELAC Institute (TNI) programs.
