Overview of ISO/IEC 17025 and TNI Field Standard: Ensuring the Validity of Results

ABSTRACT

ISO/IEC 17025 and the TNI FSMO standard both require sampling organizations to ensure the validity of their result. The result output from a sampling organization is the sample and associated documentation. In a laboratory, proficiency testing, certified reference materials and ILCs are common place in meeting these requirements. The challenge presented to sampling organizations is that often a sampler will not be performing the tests on the samples collected. In this presentation, we will discuss these challenges and how some sampling organizations have overcome them.
