ABSTRACT

Over the years a number of sampling errors have resulted in unreliable results, such as misidentification of chemical compounds and data being rejected. These errors are repeatable and are not uncommon, and have occurred in many types of laboratories. This presentation summarizes several cases in which such errors have occurred and shows the primary reason is the lack of a strong Quality Management System as described in the TNI accreditation standard for Field Samling and Measurement Organizations.
