ABSTRACT

This presentation will explore the essential requirements and best practices outlined in ISO/IEC 17025 and the TNI Field Activity Standard, General Requirements for Field Sampling and Measurement Organizations for equipment management, use of external products and services, and reporting sampling activities in laboratories. The utilization of a diverse array of equipment, including measuring instruments, software, and reference materials, is imperative for ensuring accurate results in laboratory activities. The presentation will emphasize the significance of procedures for equipment handling, verification of conformity, calibration programs, and maintenance to uphold operational efficiency and result reliability. It will also touch upon the importance of selecting suitable external products, such as reagents and consumables and services including the calibration of equipment and communicating requirements effectively to external providers and ensuring compliance to maintain the quality of field sampling and measurement operations.

Moreover, the presentation will shed light on the specific requirements for reporting sampling activities when laboratories are responsible for the sampling process. Details such as sampling date, unique item identification, sampling location with environmental conditions, and information for evaluating measurement uncertainty are vital for result interpretation and data accuracy. By adhering to these outlined requirements for equipment management, use of external products and services, and reporting sampling activities, laboratories can uphold the quality, reliability, and compliance of their sampling and testing processes in alignment with ISO/IEC 17025 and FSMO standards.
