ABSTRACT

Collecting a groundwater sample is easy – collecting a representative groundwater sample is an art. This presentation will:
1. briefly review the methods by which ground water sample are obtained;
2. discuss the basic concepts that should be applied to sampling any groundwater source;
3. identify proper equipment and discuss basic techniques for collecting samples from monitoring wells;
4. discuss special considerations for collecting certain types of samples; and
5. records that should be associated with a sampling event.
