Renan Lourenço de Oliveira Silva
Renan Lourenço de Oliveira Silva is the Sampling Division Manager at CETESB, the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo, Brazil, where he has worked since 2010. He began his career at the company as an Environmental Technician and was appointed Sampling Division Manager in 2022.
Silva holds a technical degree in Chemistry from Etec Getúlio Vargas, a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a Master’s degree from the Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research (IPEN/USP), with a focus on environmental studies. Prior to joining CETESB, he worked for three years in the chemical industry in quality control and research and development activities related to adhesives and sealants for the automotive sector.
Throughout his career, Silva has focused on environmental sampling, field quality assurance and quality control, and the management of water, wastewater, and sediment monitoring programs. His current work includes topics related to sampling representativeness, field duplicates, sampling uncertainty, and the reliability of environmental monitoring data. He actively participates in technical conferences, international training programs, and discussions related to environmental sampling and laboratory accreditation.
