Aaren Alger
Alger Consulting & Technology
Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

Aaren has spent her career serving the environmental testing community. For over twelve years, she was the former Section Chief for the Laboratory Accreditation Program for Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection where she managed the program and staff. She has been a key leader in TNI and her list of activities and contributions to TNI is extensive, including the Board of Directors, Chair of the NELAP Accreditation Council, PA-DEP Delegate to the TNI NELAP Accreditation Council, member of the TNI Quality Systems Committee and numerous ad hoc task groups.

Travis Bartholomew
Oregon Health Authority, Public Health Division

Travis is the Program Manager for Oregon's Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program. He has been Oregon's representative on the NELAP Accreditation Council for the past 3 years. Travis is a graduate of UT-Austin. He has experience as a laboratory analyst, lead chemist and QA coordinator. Prior to moving to Oregon, he worked for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality as a laboratory assessor and Air Laboratory QA Coordinator.

Justin B. Brown
Environmental Monitoring and Technologies, Inc. (EMT)
Des Plaines, Illinois

Justin has over 20 years' experience in the environmental laboratory and field sampling/data collection industry. In his current role as Vice President and General Manager, he is responsible for all EMT's daily operations including direct oversight of the laboratory, field services, customer service/sales, quality assurance, accounting, and support operations. His expertise in the field sampling and measurement industry has led him to participate in a leadership and advisory role to many regional and national organizations in the areas of soil and groundwater analysis as well as field sampling and data collection. He is the past chair of the TNI NEFAP Executive Committee and TNI Field Activities Committee, has served as a member of the TNI Proficiency Testing Executive Committee, Consensus Standard Development Executive Committee, and the TNI Board of Directors. Justin is currently TNI's Treasurer and lead of TNI's Finance Committee.

Kristin Brown
State of Utah

Kristin is with the State of Utah laboratory certification program. She has over 18 years of experience working for a NELAP AB, 7 years of that experience running the program. The list of TNI committees and subcommittees she has participated in includes the LASEC, LASEC-SIR Subcommittee, NGAB Working Group, membership in the Quality Systems Expert Committee, AB Evaluation Teams and she is currently the Chair for the NELAP Accreditation Council and the Vice-Chair of the TNI Board.

Patsy Root
IDEXX Laboratories
Westbrook, Maine

Patsy is IDEXX Laboratories' Regulatory Affairs Manager. She has over 13 years' experience in water microbiology, water-related regulations and environmental laboratory accreditation. She has worked with a variety of regulatory agencies worldwide in attaining regulatory approval for IDEXX methods and on Validation/verification of methods. Patsy is a long-time participant in various standards development organizations including TNI, Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater and ASHRAE. The list of her affiliations is extensive. She has been a member of the TNI Board of Directors and currently serves as Secretary to the Board. She is also the Chair of the Policy Committee, past chair of the Microbiology Expert Committee and Microbiology Proficiency Testing Expert Committee.

Nicholas Slawson
A2LA
Fredrick, Maryland

As a Senior Accreditation Officer for A2LA, Nicholas supports the day-to-day operations of accreditation by assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining accreditation in the Environmental field, ensures that the assessor reports, responses from laboratories, and the status of deficiencies with laboratories are reviewed and evaluated. He is also an instructor in A2LA's Workplace Training and provide contracted training, teach classes and help with the development of courses based on various International Standards. Classes can vary from in-depth teaching of 17025:2017 to more focused classes on risk management and corrective actions. Nicholas is a member of TNI's LAB Committee.
