New Regulatory Limits of Hexavalent Chromium (CA) in Drinking Water - What is next?
SYNOPSIS
On July 1, 2014 the state of California set the limit of hexavalent chromium (CrVI) allowed in drinking water to 10 ppb - representing the first state to implement what is expected to become a national standard. Driving this hexachrome regulation was a highly publicized Environmental Working Group (EWG) report regarding the hazards of hexavalent chromium contamination of drinking water.
Following the report's original publication in 2010, the U.S. EPA, the California Department of Health, Academia representatives and instrument vendors collaborated to update U.S. EPA method 218.6 to method 218.7 - which took effect November 2011.
This webcast reviews basic principles of analysis method 218.7 and discusses its application.
