Implementing and Assessing the Environmental Laboratory Standard Interpretations

SYNOPSIS

The 3 hour course presents, in detail, the Standards Interpretation Request (SIR) responses published on the TNI website for the 2009 TNI EL standard. The presentation reviews the 2009 TNI EL Volume 1 SIRs, as listed on the TNI website. The information provides laboratory personnel and assessors additional information to aid in the understanding of the interpretations of the standard. Examples of implementation of these parts of the standard are reviewed during the class.

An overview of the 2003 NELAC Interpretations will be reviewed as found on the TNI webpage for interpretations. The 2003 SIRs will be discussed in relevance to the 2009 Standard. In addition, the Guidance found on the webpage will be reviewed to ensure assessor and laboratory personnel understanding on the use of this guidance.

The training ensures an understanding for those implementing and assessing to the 2009 TNI environmental laboratory standard Volume 1 Module 2. Examples of implementation are to be provided.

Any Interpretations that are obsolete due to changes in either the 2009 or 2016 TNI standards will be identified and all attendees will receive a summary table listing all interpretations with cross references to each of the TNI standards.
