The NELAC Institute has recognized the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board/ACLASS (http://www.aclasscorp.com) as a accrediting organization for Proficiency Test (PT) Providers that provide PT samples to laboratories under TNI's National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP).
TNI established NELAP to recognize laboratories that have demonstrated competence to perform environmental analyses. All PT providers accredited under TNI's program are required to undergo on-site assessments conducted by accrediting organizations such as ACLASS. To determine that ACLASS programs meet the goals to be a PT provider accreditor, TNI reviewed ACLASS's organizational polices, evaluation practices, and standards. As a condition of TNI's recognition, ACLASS will be evaluated at least once every three years.
