Notice of Proposed Standards Activity
Date Posted: 5-11-2017
The NELAC Institute (TNI) Chemistry Expert Committee (CEC) seeks to modify Section 1.5, Method Validation, of Volume 1 Module 4 of the TNI Environmental Laboratory Sector 2016 standard to better align the module with the revised Method Detection Limit procedure and to meet the needs of the laboratories and accreditation bodies. The proposed changes will include the removal of the requirement for the Limit of Quantitation (LOQ) to be at least 3 times the Detection Limit, as well as the addition of a more quantitative component to the ongoing LOQ requirements. Other minor changes will also be proposed in accordance with CEC’s goal.
Pursuant to Section 5.2.1 of SOP 2-100 v2 (available on the TNI website) input is solicited from stakeholders and stakeholder groups who may subsequently adopt this standard as accreditation bodies, may be accredited to the standard, or may use data from accredited testing laboratories. Those who are interested in participating and providing input into this process are invited to contact, within 30 days, the CEC Committee Chair, Valerie Slaven through e-mail [email protected]. The CEC will then arrange to meet with interested stakeholders by webinar.
