Reminder - Nominations Open for NEFAP Executive Committee until 4/12/15

The NEFAP Executive Committee is accepting nominations for open positions on the Committee. Everyone is welcome to apply and you may self nominate or nominate anyone that would be willing to serve. The application forms may be found on the website (http://nelac-institute.org/content/members/committee-application.php). Nominations will close on April 12, 2015, so please have your applications submitted by that date.
There are 3 openings on the committee (2 – FSMO, 1 – Other). Please note that candidates must be chosen from different organizations and the term is for three years.

SOP 5-103 (TNI NEFAP Nominating Committee) defines an FSMO and Other as:
- Field Sampling and Measurement Organizations (FSMO) - This stakeholder group includes FSMO's from the following categories:
- commercial
- municipal
- state
- federal
FSMOs as a stakeholder group fall under the category of "Laboratories and other organizations directly involved in providing sampling and environmental measurements", as identified in TNI bylaws Article XI, Section 4.
- Other - This stakeholder group can include federal agencies, regulated industries, and other stakeholder groups such as PT or audit sample providers, vendors, contractors, consultants, and non-NEFAP recognized accreditation bodies among others.

develop consensus standards for use by TNI's programs. This group has a support role in assisting other programs with activities such as guidance and standards interpretation.
fosters the generation of data of known and documented quality is through the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program, or NELAP. The purpose of this program is to establish and implement a program for the accreditation of environmental laboratories.
is to establish and maintain a national PT program to support TNI’s National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program, and other activities.
Field Activities Program (NEFAP) Executive Committee is to establish and implement an accreditation program for field sampling and measurement organizations (FSMOs).
Audit Sample Program is to develop consensus standards for the manufacture and analysis of audit samples for source emission testing.
